Handprints

Last Thursday Sgt Midgley came into school to work with Reception children as part of their 'People Who Help Us' topic. He made handprints with the children and showed them the different lines on their hands and fingers and explained to them that everyones prints are different and sometimes that can help the police to investigate and solve crimes.

Trip to Fire Station
Reception children are learning about People Who Help Us. Last Friday they all went on a trip to Prestatyn fire station. The children had a look inside the fire station, sat in the fire engine, had a drink and a biscuit and each child was given a goody bag. Mrs Davidson, Miss Cridge, Miss O'Neill and Miss Newby dressed up in the fire fighters uniforms and the children sqirted them with water. Everyone had a fantastic time. A big THANK YOU once again to all at the fire station.

Cafe Treat
Mrs Davidson's class went to The Pantry in town today and ordered a milkshake.  The waitress came over to each child and they had a choice of different flavoured milkshakes, juice or water.  All the children were very well behaved and it was lovely to hear the comments from the elderly people of Prestatyn.  We have told the children that they are ambassadors of the school when they visit different places in their school uniform.  These children are 4 and 5 years old and we are extremely proud of them.  Well done and thank you to the parents who helped Mrs Davidson and Mrs Haddon to walk the children.  Also a very big thank you to ths staff at The Pantry who were so accommodating towards the staff and children.  These are important occasions where the children experience the outside world and learn how to address people in the correct manner.  Mrs Potter's and Miss O'Neill's classes will also be visiting the cafe this week.   Pictures to follow.
